Savoury leaf develops a spicy and bitingly hot flavour and, allegedly, stimulates the digestion of fatty dishes. This herb is not suitable for long cooking. If you cook it for more than ten minutes, it will turn bitter.


The herb is excellent with all kinds of beans and can be used in stews containing pulses, potato and meat salads, as well as tomato dishes.
